Exploring Reflective Practice and Appreciative Inquiry
Presented by Dr Allyson Davys
Objectives:
- To explore what we mean by ‘reflective practice’ and ‘appreciative inquiry’
- To consider how reflective supervision can enhance practice
- To understand the importance of reflective practice to effective professional/clinical pastoral practice
Dr Allyson Davys (B Soc Stud; MSW; PhD)
Allyson lives in New Zealand, is a registered social worker and has long involvement with the tertiary education sector through teaching, research, leadership and management. Allyson has been engaged with professional supervision for over 30 years as an educator and researcher and through private supervision practice. She has published widely in this area and co-authored two supervision texts. Allyson regards supervision as a forum for reflection and transformative learning which leads to reflective practice. Her particular interest is supervision which spans professions.
